Tom is a native Santa Fean and, following graduation from Santa Fe High School,
he began a 38-year career at Los Alamos National Laboratory. He first served in
a four-year machinist apprentice program where he received a certificate as a
Journeyman Machinist and ultimately retired from LANL as an Electro-Mechanical
Technician. In his support role of the scientific community, he traveled all
over the United States, meeting many people and experiencing a wide variety of
lifestyles.
Tom is a leader in the Santa Maria de la Paz Catholic Community where his
faith-based activities include serving as Eucharistic Minister Coordinator, as
a member of the Liturgy Committee and the Pastoral Council. He is also a Boy
Scout and Cub Scout adult leader, a Coach and Partner with Special Olympics New
Mexico and a grade school swimming coach. Tom is a Supervisory Committee member
of the Northern New Mexico School Employees Federal Credit Union, Santa Fe.
Married and the father of three grown children, and grandfather to five, Tom
takes pleasure during his retirement in completing long put off projects at
home and traveling to his children’s homes to help them with their projects. He
finds these efforts and church and civic related opportunities to serve most
rewarding at this point in his life, looking for ways to contribute his skills
and abilities.
