Angela is originally from Southwest Iowa; her academic work in Teacher
Education and related fields was completed at Iowa State and New Mexico State
Universities, culminating in an Ed.D. She also has a degree in Ethics and
Theology from Harvard Divinity School and coursework from Meadville/Lombard
Theological School.
Angela first became aware of and involved in border life issues when she lived
in El Paso and taught at The University of Texas at El Paso. During her work in
higher education, corporate and non-profit positions, she has done change
management, strategic planning, organizational development, and instructional
design work in various management roles.
She has been an active member of Unitarian Universalist congregations for 26
years in the Dallas, Boston, and Chicago areas and now in Santa Fe. Angela
served five years as District Executive to 80 congregations in a four-state
area surrounding Chicago, nurturing and expanding congregational outreach and
social justice work, including focus on low-income and homeless people. She has
been a consultant in UU congregations for 15 years. Conflict resolution,
governance, fundraising and staff and lay leadership development have been
among her specialties.
She currently serves as Executive Director of Faith at Work Community Outreach.
Angela has been a member of the Core Group of the Interfaith Community Shelter
Group since October 2008.
