We are a volunteer organization of the faith communities of Santa Fe. Host communities typically take one week at a time to provide food and volunteer staffing from 5:30 pm to 9:00 pm each night the shelter is operating from November 1 through April 30 of 2010. From 9:00 pm to 7:00 am, the shelter is staffed by paid members of our team. Anyone interested in being considered for one of these part-time, temporary positions is encouraged to review the JOB Description and to fill out and submit a Job Application by email or USPS.

Job description – Part time Temporary Worker
Duties –
Staffing of homeless shelter from 9pm – 7am. Duties include but are not limited to:

• Provide an atmosphere of safety and security at all times
• Intake & Registration of shelter guests
• Security checks
• Food service if needed during the night; preparation of breakfast for over-night guests
• Distribution of sleeping gear/Assignment of sleeping spaces
• Securing guests’ personal belongings & medications
• Familiarity with all legal & emergency policies & procedures
• Morning clean-up including storage of food & supplies
• Maintenance of daily logs & records
• Must remain awake and alert during entire shift

Requirements for employment

• Attendance at orientation & on-going trainings
• Successful completion of background and police checks
• Successful drug screen tests
• Applicable resume & work references
• Spanish speaking desired but not required
• Experience working with a diverse population preferred
• Team player
• Abide by core values of ICSG

Remuneration: begins at $12.00/hr

• Jobs are available this coming autumn for staffers to work between
9:00 pm and 7:00 am.
